Tis the season to be jolly and we're here to tell you that the 2011 Christmas Special"Stromboli's Comet" by Jez Strickley and Jake Johnson is now available to download in PDF format for your reading pleasure.
In the thirty-first century, energy prospecting has a new territory: comets. Arriving aboard a deep-space rig, the Doctor, Val and Tom are soon caught up in a battle for survival as its crew struggles to make comet-fall on Stromboli’s Comet in search of a lost rig. But there is more to Stromboli’s Comet than energy, and uncovering the answers will lead the Doctor to confront an enemy from his distant past…
In the thirty-first century, energy prospecting is as crucial to humanity as it was a thousand years earlier, only now the rigs and drill platforms have a new territory: comets.
One such speeding rock, Stromboli’s Comet, is the biggest catch in the prospecting business, but more rigs have vanished hunting it than any other comet. And no one knows why.
Arriving aboard the Lokev, a deep-space rig captained by the veteran comet-chaser Pavel Komen, the Doctor, Val and Tom are soon caught up in a battle for survival as the Lokev attempts to make comet-fall on Stromboli’s Comet in search of a lost rig, the Urkübl, and its missing crew.
But there is more to Stromboli’s Comet than energy-rich minerals. Someone – or something – has infiltrated its interior, with deadly intentions.
As the Doctor searches for survivors of the Urkübl and uncovers a terrible trap, divisions in the crew of the Lokev leave Val and Tom facing an alien intruder who will stop at nothing to achieve its mission.
Who has hijacked Stromboli’s Comet and what is it so intent on protecting? Only the Doctor can uncover the answers, and they will lead him to confront an enemy from his distant past…

All Pax wants is to get out of his village and see something of the world. All Dea wants is to find out where she comes from. They don’t know it yet, but their lives are linked, and soon they’ll change forever. For the Doctor has come to their world, and when he’s finished with them, things will never be the same again.

2011 Christmas Special: STROMBOLI'S COMET by Jez Strickley & Jake Johnson
It is the turn of the third millennium in the Common Era Calendar (CEC) and as human beings have sought to find and settle Earth-type planets and terra-form uninhabitable planetoids into viable colony worlds, the drive for greater and more efficient energy sources has continued unabated.
As part of this relentless quest, human beings have begun to exploit all possible energy locations, including the speeding comet - a hurtling, ice-bound rock often carrying highly-prized and uncommon minerals. Of the innumerable comets in charted space, countless thousands have been surveyed using remote drilling drones - yet one remains strangely elusive: Stromboli's Comet.
Named after the now-extinct Italian volcano, Stromboli's Comet is approximately half the size of the Earth's moon, and was discovered a century earlier having taken a course from uncharted space. Crucially, It has been revealed to be rich in a substance known as Fluvium: the oil of the thirty-first century.
The catch is that no mining vessel has ever made comet-fall and returned...
The TARDIS crew arrive on board the Lokev, a mining station en route for Stromboli's Comet. It's captain, Pavel Komen, is determined to be the first to successfully mine the comet and establish drilling rights for the energy conglomerate for which he works.
Tension builds amongst Komen's crew as the comet draws closer, but upon landing all seems well, aside from the strange breakdown in communication devices, which prevents Komen from announcing his successful arrival to the conglomerate.
Then, strange energy spikes aboard the Lokev and the disappearance of various members of its crew casts doubt upon the entire enterprise, until the Doctor and his companions finally uncover the truth behind Stromboli's Comet...
Quick note to let everyone know that all ordered copies of the TDWP Series Bible have now been shipped. Depending on where you live you should have your copies over the next 7-10 days approximately. Please drop us a line to let us know you get your copy and what you think of the publication.
Well, it looks like Canada Post is going to be returning to work this week, (for full details visit www.clients.infopost.ca/en/), which means we'll finally be able to ship out purchased copies of the TDWP Series Bible. If all goes to plan, we should be sending these out this weekend, but we'll email everyone who purchased a copy to confirm it.
Canada Post has advised that effective June 15th they have gone on strike and there will be no further postal service until the current dispute is resolved. As a result of the strike, we are unable to mail copies of the TDWP Series Bible to those who recently purchased copies. Canada Post has not indicated how long the strike will be, so until this issue is resolved, we will delay mailing out copies of the 'bible' until regular postal service resumes. We apologize to all of you who purchased copies of the Series Bible, but unfortunately this is out of our control. Thank you for your patience and understanding at this time.

As part of this relentless quest, human beings have begun to exploit all possible energy locations, including the speeding comet - a hurtling, ice-bound rock often carrying highly-prized and uncommon minerals. Of the innumerable comets in the Milky Way Galaxy, countless thousands have been surveyed using remote drilling drones - yet one remains elusive: Stromboli's Comet.

Yup. It’s something we’ve been thinking about for some time now and after the success of the accompanying blog for Whotopia, we decided to finally take the plunge and try one out for TDWP.
But what about the TDWP website?
Well, this blog isn’t meant to take place of the website, or the news section of the website. Both of those will remain online for years to come. But we thought we’d do with this blog is to provide our readers a little more insight and detail on some of those news items, as well as provide a look into some of the day-to-day happenings going on around TDWP HQ. This will be our chance to provide more detail and/or information than what’s contained in a standard news item or PR item. Plus, while we post regularly to the Fan Fiction thread on the Gallifrey Base forum, this will be an avenue for those of you to find out what’s happening with our various projects, special announcements, various details and information that we think our readers, our contributors and potentential contributors might like to know about TDWP.
So over the coming days, weeks and months, we’ll be providing you with an insight into The Doctor Who Project and some of our upcoming projects. We hope you’ll make this blog part of your regular stops on the internet, and if you have any questions, or maybe there’s something you’d like to know about TDWP, or its history, etc, drop us an email and we’ll do our best to answer your questions.

The Doctor Who Project is looking for writers who would be interested in writing fiction for our series of original Doctor Who adventures.
We are looking for imaginative, original and entertaining stories to fill our lineup of specials that will be published over the course of 2011. We are now accepting storyline proposals for the 2011 Fall and Christmas Specials.
Deadline for proposals and/or outlines March 12, 2011.
The current TDWP TARDIS team includes: the Tenth Doctor and companions Val Rossi and Tom Brooker.
Some usual information:
Over the past 12 years, TDWP stories have generally been in the 15,000-45,000 word range.
Please do not submit a story idea featuring former companion(s) from the television series.
Be creative - try to develop your own aliens, monsters, villains or foes. Using your own monsters/villains will be a better gauge of your abilities as a writer instead of relying on old monsters/villains.
The Doctor Who Project does not use, or refer to, continuity from the Virgin/BBC novels, comic strips, the new television series from BBC Wales, or Big Finish audios for its "canon" - any companions who may have died in the novels (e.g. Liz Shaw) are still alive. Also, any major companion "personality" changes (e.g. Ace in the Virgin novels) has not happened in the Doctor Who Project. That's not to say that these companions would not have changed in their time away from the Doctor, it's just that they should not have changed in the same way as in the novels/audios.
Story proposals can be as detailed as possible. The more detailed a proposal, the more likely your story will be accepted for publication.
Proposals should be attached to an email as a Word or Rich Text Format document.
Proposals should include your full name and email contact.
Tell us a bit about yourself.
If you would like further information, or be sent a copy of the full 2011 WRITERS GUIDELINES, please email us at bobf60(@)shaw.ca. Story proposals can also be sent to the same email address.
We look forward to hearing from interested writers.

Now available is a brand new Brief Encounters adventure for download. This Is How The World Ends by Robert Mammone sees the Doctor and Peri answering a distress signal from a distant planet, where they find themselves intertwined in the lives of two of the colonists who harbour great hopes for the future and a terrible secret from the past. With the planet slowly dying, the Doctor wrestles with a decision which will have a lasting impact on the lives of those he seeks to rescue, as well as for himself.
This Is How The World Ends features the Sixth Doctor and Peri and is available to download in PDF format for Adobe Acrobat Reader.
A quick follow up to our news posting of January 26 regarding problems the site was experiencing - but note that the problems have now been fixed and all stories are once again available to download.
For some unknown reason, it appears that older versions of pages for Seasons 27-30 have replaced the existing files that were online. Unfortunately this means that many of the stories that were available from those seasons are not currently available and won't be until all 4 pages have been updated, yet again. We apologize to readers about this but we shall endeavour to correct this problem as quickly as possible.
Part two of the 2010 Christmas Special can now be found online. You can download part two of The Angel of the North for free in PDF format for Adobe Acrobat Reader. After December 18th, part one, and part two, can be found under the Season 37 section of the Seasons area of the TDWP site or via www.thedoctorwhoproject.com/pages/seasons/season37.php
Part one of the 2010 Christmas Special can now be found online. You can download part one of The Angel of the North for free in PDF format for Adobe Acrobat Reader. The story also features a revised cover which when the covers for parts one and two are lined up side by side form one large portrait featuring all the key elements of the story.

"You can cheat anyone else, harm anyone else, kill anyone else, but family is sacred. The rest of the galaxy may be out to get you, but you can always count on family to hide you and to bankroll you because one day you'll do the same for them."
When a Lodge of Foamasi escapes into the past using a stolen tachyon reactor, it sets off a chain of events that will span three decades and involve four generations of Tom Brooker's family.
In search of the source of the disruption to the space-time, the Doctor and Tom travel to Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in 1969, where Tom's maternal grandfather, Ian Townsend, is caught up in political corruption and becomes the target for a Foamasi assassination attempt.
Meanwhile, the Doctor, in the company of Tom's other grandparents, is helping Ryugin, a Draconian prince fleeing from his power-hungry younger sibling. But can even the Doctor save him from an indestructible cyborg hound programmed for one task and one task only: to kill?
SATURDAY DECEMBER 18 2010 THE ANGEL OF THE NORTH PART TWO
"Just wait for me. I'll come back for you. I give you my word."
The Doctor returns to 1984 seeking a way to save Ryugin, but he is not the only one looking for the prince. Genroku Urabe, his once-betrothed, needs Ryugin's help if she is to save her people and she will take whatever aid she can get to complete her mission, be it that offered by Val or by the Foamasi. But when Ryugin wakes, the first person to cross his path is Hazel Townsend and it is an encounter that will change her life forever.
Finally, the TARDIS crew reunite on New Year's Eve 1999, just as the Foamasi reactivate the tachyon reactor, unleashing a temporal storm across Newcastle, past, present and future. As the Doctor races to save time and space, Tom's concern is for his family, caught up in a decades-long Draconian family feud. Who is Sara Ferris? What is her secret? And why is she so important to both the Foamasi and the Draconians?
Among the shadows stalks the Okuri, determined to complete the mission at which it failed thirty years earlier. Has time already run out for the Doctor, for Tom and for the city of Newcastle?

Coming soon to TDWP is the 2010 Christmas Story entitled "The Angel of the North" by Duncan Johnson.
A Lodge of Foamasi escapes into the past using a stolen tachyon reactor, setting off a chain of events that will span three decades and involve four generations of Tom Brooker's family.
In 1969, Ian Townsend and Hazel Ferris become caught up in corruption in local politics and are made the target of a Foamasi assassination attempt, while Alan Brooker and Mary Moran help Ryugin, a Draconian prince, flee from a cyborg hound sent by his brother to hunt down and kill him.
In 1984, Mary meets a Draconian princess, on Earth searching for her long lost prince, a Foamasi coup unbalances the status quo and Ryugin, awake after a fifteen year slumber, crosses paths with Hazel, changing her life forever.
In 1999, all eyes are on Hazel's daughter Sara: the Foamasi, looking to finally return home; the Draconian Daimyo, looking to erase the memory of his brother once and for all; and the cyborg hound, looking to complete the hunt it was sent on thirty years before. When the Foamasi activate the reactor, unleashing a tachyon storm across Newcastle, past, present and future, only Robert Brooker and Kate Townsend stand between Sara and a Draconian blade and only the Doctor stands between the city and total annihilation.
As most of our readers will know, TDWP will not be publishing a full season of stories in 2011; instead we'll be publishing four specials throughout the year - Spring, Summer, Fall and Christmas. We've already lined up stories for the Spring and Summer special, but we're excited to reveal that we've now lined up a candidate for the Fall special too.
The Spring Special is being penned by returning TDWP author Charles Heathcote. Charles will be familiar to TDWP fans as the author of season 37s "The Clockmaker's Daughter". The title of the special is "The Box".
The Summer Special is being also being penned by returning TDWP author Dan Tessier who penned "City of The Dragon" also featured in season 37.
And new to TDWP author Kevin Mullen will be penning the the Fall Special titled "Revenance of the Daleks" which sees the return of everyone's favourite pepperpots, the Daleks.
The Christmas Special slot is yet to be filled - you'll find details on submitting a story outline on this slot - but we're hoping to reveal details on this story in the coming weeks.
Also on schedule is the 2010 Christmas Special being penned by returning TDWP author Duncan Johnson. This will be the second story to feature TDWP's new tenth Doctor, so I'm sure fans of TDWP will be looking forward to reading a new adventure for this newest Doctor.

We are looking for imaginative, original and entertaining story that will be published as our 2011 Christmas Special. We are now accepting story proposals for the 2011 Christmas Special
Deadline for proposals and/or outlines October 30, 2010.
I. Things To Remember for Your Proposal
TDWP stories are generally in the 15,000-45,000 word range. Do not use former companions from the television series.
Your story should contain some element of Christmas in it as it will be intended as the Christmas Special.
Do not use any of the television series companions.
Story proposals should be as detailed as possible. The more detailed a proposal, the more likely your story will be accepted for publication.
Proposals should be attached to an email as a Word or Rich Text Format document.
Proposals should include your full name and email contact.
Tell us a bit about yourself.
If you have never written for TDWP before, please include a sample of your writing.
II. Additional Information of Importance
Please do not submit a story idea that features one of the following as TDWP has recently featured stories using:
Yeti
Cybermen
The Great Intelligence
Daleks
Things I'd like to see:
Adventure and excitement
A sequel to a past TDWP story or a reappearance of a monster, villain or foe from a past TDWP story (e.g. Therianthropes)
A possible return of a classic monster - Sea Devils, Ice Warriors, Sontarans, Rutans, Sil, etc.
If you would a copy of the full proposal guidelines please email us to request your copy.
Story outlines can be emailed to us directly by October 30, 2010.
It appears we're having a few problems with our general email address, so until we can rectify the problem, please direct all emails to our alternate email address, tellyvisionmagazine[@]yahoo.ca. If you have recently sent any email to our TDWP email, please resend it to this alternate email address. Thanks.

We're still looking for stories for our Brief Encounters line.
What is Brief Encounters?
The concept of Brief Encounters is to publish on the TDWP website a series of short stories set within the Doctor Who universe. The stories will feature classic Doctor/Companion pairings from the original television series (up to Survival), and from the ongoing adventures of the Eighth and Ninth incarnations as published by TDWP.
Each Brief Encounters short story will be published as each individual short story is completed by the author. To date we have published 3 such stories featuring the second, third and sixth Doctor, which can be found on the TDWP site under "Brief Encounters" in the Seasons section.
Story Requirements
1) Stories must be original whilst also fitting within established original television series continuity. 2) The stories will be around 5,000 words in length. 3) The use of established enemies/monsters should be avoided. We would rather have exiting new characters and monsters featuring in the stories rather than using established ones.
Interested in contributing?
If you are interested in contributing to TDWP: Brief Encounters then please send your story submissions to tdwp@thedoctorwhoproject.com. Submissions should contain the following:
1) The Doctor and companion that the story concerns. 2) Details of key characters/monsters. 3) A brief synopsis of the story.

But escaping from this outer space quicksand only lands the Doctor, Val and Tom in even more trouble when they find themselves seeking refuge on board an anonymous spaceship with a terrible purpose.
Intent on finding out the truth behind the spaceship, the time travellers head for the planet Terra Zentrum, where rumours of temporal terrorists threatening the time lines have turned this quiet little backwater into a fortress of fear.
Who exactly is the mysterious Rector? And why are the Time Lords so interested in Terra Zentrum? To discover the truth, the Doctor must risk confronting one of Gallifrey’s most unpleasant practices.

Throughout the season there will be a force or entity that is trying to assert its power and influence. The Doctor will continually feel like his life is not his own. Something, or someone, is trying to control him. Trying to influence him and guide his destiny. Something is trying to take control of the universe and make it its own. The Great Intelligence is at work again. Each story the Doctor will battle its influence either directly or indirectly. But each time he does, his life seems to be slipping away from him. Each battle tires him out more and more and he begins to age. By the end of the season the Great Intelligence will be at full power and will make its last great stab at taking over the entire universe. Despite the Doctor being tired and worn out he summonds the strength and courage to defeat the Great Intelligence one last time.
The Doctor will be joined by two new companions this season in the form of Val Rossi and Tom Brooker who will travel alongside of the ninth Doctor.

Hi all. I'm currently working on a project for TDWP called "The Series Bible" and one of my aims in doing this is to try and include an up-to-date bio on everyone who has contributed to TDWP over the past 11 years. Some of our former contributors are still in contact with me but there are others I'm trying to track down. This is where you can help me.
I'm trying to track down the following people, or perhaps you might know the current whereabouts of these people? If so, I would like to hear from you as I would very much like to include a bio on these individuals for the work they contributed to TDWP.
I'm trying to track down:
Jamie Hunn (aka Jamie Williams) - use to post on the Outpost Gallifrey (OG) art forum. Did numerous covers for TDWP.
Devon Shaddick - also use to post on the OG art forum. Did one cover for TDWP.
Charles Kirchoff - may have been on the old rec.arts.doctor.who mailing list. Story author.
James Margitch - as above - resides in Australia. Story author.
Scott Marshall - may have been on the old rec.arts.doctor.who mailing list. Story author.
Graham Bell - use to post on the old OG forums. Story author.
If you know anything about any of the above people, or are indeed one of these people please contact me direct at tdwp[at]thedoctorwhoproject[dot]com.
While work continues on the stories for season 37 we've learned that the season may be scheduled for a launch date sometime in April. While there was some talk of the latest season launching in May, we do know for sure that a May launch has now been ruled out. Additonally, it has been confirmed that the 2010 Christmas Special has been cancelled and brought forth to July for the now Summer Special.
Is it true? No it can't be. Well maybe it is? I don't know for sure but there's been a rumour floating around that the TDWP ninth Doctor might be regenerating at the end of the upcoming season! "What!" I hear you say. Exactly. We're not sure if this is true at this point or not, but we're definitely trying to find out if there's truth to the rumour or not. As soon as we find out any concrete news, we here at TDWP HQ will let you know.
In our continuing efforts to add the missing stories from seasons 28 and 29, we've added two more stories to the list of those now available. These include two more season 28 stories, "Silver Plague" by James Margitch and the season finale, "Escape Pod" by Misha Lauenstein. Both stories can now be downloaded in PDF format for Adobe Acrobat Reader.

DEC 5/09: PEACEFUL PEOPLE ARE HARDLY EVER TROUBLE!
"Peaceful people are hardly every trouble, Sssterex. These sheep will bend to us like a reed to a forceful breeze. Those who are at peace don't know how to fight back. They cry, they plead, and they try to bargain. But they never fight back. And those few who do, are easily dealt with; and, make a fine example to the rest as well."
Kalen is a peaceful planet where its people are about to celebrate the 'Esh'Ri'Ul, an annual national holiday of peace and love. But before the celebrations can begin, they are attacked by the vicious Skelexol. Who are the Skelexol and why have they come to Kalen? What is the connection of Mia to the Doctor's past and why is it everytime the Doctor wants to take a well deserved rest and holiday, his plans seem to go awry? These questions and more will be answered in this years Christmas special "And The Child Shall Lead" by Samantha Warner and Karen Kalbacher.
The Doctor, heartsick with past events, decides that it's time for a long rest, but it seems fate has other plans for him. Rather than finding himself in a peaceful setting, he's thrust headlong into Kalen's troubles. Who are the alien invaders? Will the Doctor be able to pierce through the falling shadows? And, who is the young woman that seems to know all about the Doctor?
Join TDWP as we celebrate the holiday season in this special Christmas release on Saturday, December 12, 2009. "And The Child Shall Lead" will be available to download for free in PDF format.

Now they are coming together: Pamanzi, a trader with a hidden past; Jeremiah, a man drive to insanity in the search for his missing family; and the Goyellercanth herself. Beginning April 9th and over the next week or so you'll start to see a few changes happening with the TDWP site. One such change will be separating Seasons 27-30 from being one complete section to dividing the four seasons up into a separate page section for each season. In order to make these changes, and prepare the new sections of the site, you may notice certain older pages missing or certain stories temporarily being unavailable. Please note that this will be temporary while we make changes to the TDWP site. Your understanding during this time is appreciate and please rest assure that we will have the missing stories reinstated as quickly as possible.

MAR 28/09: TDWP NEEDS HELP WITH ITS SERIES BIBLE PROJECT
Hi everyone. I thought I'd take a chance and see if there might be a couple of people on the board that might be interested in helping us out in completing a little project TDWP is doing. For some time now it has been my desire to try and put together a comprehensive series bible for TDWP that provides a fairly comprehensive background on all of the stories we've published to date. The aim of the series bible is to provide information that would provide details on each story from day one. This will proove a valuable tool when planning future seasons and ensuring we don't duplicate past stories, ideas, etc and recalling our own projects continuity, as well as improving our programme guide and other projects.
I've received details on many of our stories published so far, but there are several stories where I still need the info from. I really really (!) would like to get this project completed and I'm hoping some of you out there reading this might like to help out. My goal is to see this project completed by the end of May. I thought I'd post this to see if someone might like to volunteer to read one of these stories, and then pen the bible entry to help out. I can't offer you anything for your help other than my appreciation and gratitude, but I'd be willing to make sure you get credit for your work when the guide is published.
The information we're looking for on each story is:
Plot synopsis of the story (a 3-5 paragraph synopsis of your story - this is not the blurbs previously written up but rather a plot synopsis or overview of what happens in your story. The synopsis can be as detailed as you'd like but not more than 5 paragraphs in length.)
A list of all the main characters in the story
A list of all the supporting characters in the story
Where does the story take place? [Location(s) of the story]
When does the story take place? [Date and time]
Who is the main villain/chief protaganist of the story? [include a short description]
Who is the featured monster if applicable [provide a description]
Is there an alien race featured? If so, please name them. [If they are a new alien race, please provide a short description]
Additional info [any information you feel is important that is not covered in the above]
Below you'll find an updated list - as of March 28th - of which stories still require a "bible" entry done:
Blown Out of The Sky - Misha Lauenstein
Fallout - Kyle Bastian/Karen Gold
Tomb of Shadows - John Gordon Swogger
Nadir - Karen Gold
Tears of Rassilon - Kyle Bastian
Leaving The Red - Tim Jones
The Children's Crusade - Julio Angel Ortiz

TDWP (THE DOCTOR WHO PROJECT) is looking for writers who would be interested in becoming a part of our team and writing fiction for our series of original Doctor Who adventures.
TDWP centers on the continuing adventures of an alternate Doctor and his companions. Stories are published as part of an overall season that concentrates on delivering a collection of short stories that sees the Doctor facing new and original situations in time and space.
We are looking for imaginative, original and entertaining stories to fill our lineup of 8 stories for Season 37.
He wins but at a great cost. His body and spirit have worn out and once again he faces regeneration.
The 2010 Christmas special will be a little different for TDWP. For most of the story our Doctor will have to deal with his regeneration and his companions will have to face a threat without him. But the Doctor will eventually recover to assist his companions and win the battle for them.
The season will also see the introduction of two new companions. One male - Tom Brooker - and one female - Valentina Rossi.
Season 37 will break down as follows:

An adventure in history...
Nero's Rome is in tatters - devastated by fire, now torn apart from within as various political factions vie for power. A series of gory murders seems set to light the powder keg the city has become - unless the Doctor can find the culprit and bring him to justice. But when the list of suspects includes Gods, corrupt Senators and a criminal from the Doctor's own past, that's not going to be a simple matter. With Silver lined up as the killer's next victim, and Nero himself in danger, time is a luxury the Doctor and his new friend Cornelius do not have.
