Season 44 continues this Saturday November 4th with TIMEBASE, an all new story by Daniel Tessier, Hamish Crawford & Meg MacDonald.
The Timebase Project was launched in the sixty-fourth century. Or was it the twenty-seventh? Or was it the work of Colin Bathersby, a shop assistant at the Pelbridge Shopping Complex in 2013?
According to the Doctor, the Timebase—a military station grounded in the vortex—should never have existed at any time. But, in the course of trying to get his new friend Simon home, he has ended up inside the Timebase, and finds that Professor Camille Avalea and her crew are losing their grips on their real lives. Within a few hours of their arrival, the TARDIS crew are becoming part of this same insidious web—and when Simon is abducted by invaders to the station, Maggie can barely remember he was there.
Avalea must retain control of the Timebase, and fend off the attacks of Commander Mordecai, who leads a ragtag band of humans on a time-ravaged planet and wants to use the Timebase to regain the lives that have been erased from time altogether. With the TARDIS itself affected by the station, and history contorting and collapsing itself around its existence, can the Doctor reset time, undo the damage, and ensure the crew and the Commander are not written out of history in the process?
